How to change the thickness of ply?
Updated over a week ago

To create plywood with different thickness in your catalogue, follow these steps using the Admin Portal:

Step 1: Access Admin Portal

  • Go to your Admin Portal.

Step 2: Navigate to Hardware Catalogue

  • In the catalogue section, find and select "Hardware."

Step 3: Go to Ply Section

  • Within the hardware catalogue, locate the "Ply" section.

Step 4: Choose Ply Subcategories

  • Choose the subcategory of ply for which you want to create various thickness options. For example, you may have options like 6mm, 12mm, 16mm, and 25mm BWR ply.

Step 5: Add Ply from Warehouse

  • If the desired ply thickness is available in the warehouse options, you can directly add it from there.

Step 6: Clone Existing Ply Group

  • If the ply thickness you need is not in the warehouse, you can clone an existing group. For example, clone the 6mm BWR ply group.

Step 7: Name the New Ply Group

  • Specify the name for the new group, e.g., "22mm BWR ply."

Step 8: Adjust Thickness in SKU Properties

  • Go to SKU properties and locate the "thickness" option. Since you cloned from 6mm, the default thickness is 6. Change it to 22 or the desired thickness.

Step 9: Update Details and Pricing

  • Update other details like brand and pricing. Adjust the price, taxes, margin, etc., as needed.

Step 10: Add Sales Channels (Optional)

  • If you have multiple sales channels, you can add them. Default sales channels may already be added due to cloning.

Step 11: Save Changes

  • Save the changes made to the new SKU.

Step 12: Refresh Design Portal

  • Go to your design portal and refresh the page.

Step 13: Use the New Ply in Design

  • Now, when you select a cabinet or carcass and change the core material, you should see the newly created 22mm BWR ply as an option.

Note: Why Create a New SKU for Ply Thickness?

  • Changing the thickness of a ply in an existing SKU is not possible because different thicknesses represent different products.

  • To offer different thickness options, you need to create separate SKUs for each thickness and then choose the appropriate one during design.

By following these steps, you can create plywood with different thickness in your catalogue and use them in your designs based on your requirements.
