How to create Modular Beds?
Updated over a week ago

To create a modular bed, follow these steps:

  1. Add a modular bed carcass

Click on the Insert tab, and click on the Furnish icon in the ribbon. In the lefthand panel that opens, click on the All drop-down menu, and click on Multipurpose Modular Furniture. A carousel of units belonging to that category, will open at the bottom. Select the desired unit by clicking once on the corresponding thumbnail image. The item you selected now appears along with the cursor for you to place in the design.

    • To add a modifiable bed carcass, select 'Bed Carcass' SKU, as that follows a User Component format

    • To add a readymade bed carcass that you intend to use as is, select any other SKU from the carousel.

  2. Editing the bed User Component

    1. To add a modifiable bed carcass, select 'Bed Carcass' SKU, as that follows a User Component format.

    2. Select the bed, and in the User Component section in the left panel, there will be some inbuilt parameters under the parameters section, that is, the name of the parameter followed by the numerical value assigned. eg. cabinet_width = 2000

    3. The dimension and position fields of the lower levels such as Cabinet, Panel, etc. will have fields in which you can enter the parameter names, and the respective field will depend upon the entered parameter. For eg., in W value in Cabinet section, enter in 'cabinet_width', and the W value will adjust itself to whatever value you assign to the 'cabinet_width' parameter in the Parameter list.

Note: Only the fields marked by an 'i' symbol can hold values/formulas dependent on parameter names.

  3. Adding Custom Panels to the Bed

    1. Use cases: Custom Panels can be added as headboards, extra bottom rails etc.

    2. Adding Custom Panels: Navigate to the Cabinet section in the lefthand panel, open Construction tab, and select 'Add Custom Panel'. Select the appropriate panel depending on what part of the bed you wish to create.

    3. Adding Parameters: Navigate to the Panel section in the lefthand panel, and enter the appropriate parameter(s) from the list that is appropriate for your custom panel to follow. You can determine both its dimensions and its position this way.

    4. By doing so, the location and dimensions of the panel will adjust depending on the changing dimensions or location of the overall User Component.
