What is floor level and how to edit its properties

Updated over a week ago

The Floor Level is where you create the floor plan for each individual floor. On the navigation bar, it is shown by the name of the selected floor. If you are on the Building Level, you will see “Select Floor” here. When you click on it, it will show a dropdown list with the names of all the floors in that building. Click on the floor you want to switch to, and you will be taken to the Floor Level for that particular floor.

Floor Name

To change the name of the floor, click on the Floor icon in the Global Preferences and Settings bar in the bottom left, while you’re on the Floor Level. In the panel that opens up, enter the new name for the floor in the Name field, and press Enter.

Floor Elevation

To change the elevation of the floor with respect to the terrain elevation, click on the Floor icon in the Global Preferences and Settings bar in the bottom left, while you’re on the Floor Level. Go to Floor Bottom/Top in the left panel. Enter the required measurement into the Bottom Field.

Floor Base

Floor base is the supporting layer underneath the entire floor. Tiling is created on top of this Floor Base.

Auto/Custom Shapes

By default, when a floor plan is created, Infurnia will automatically add a 300mm Floor base in the entire area where the floor plan has closed room shapes. You can create a custom Floor Base shape as well.

To do so, go to the Floor Level in 2D view. Click on the Floor icon in the Global Preferences and Settings bar in the bottom left, while you’re on the Floor Level. Click on the Floor Base drop-down menu. You will see that the default construction method is Automatic. Click Use Custom Shape. You can modify the shape using the Sketcher mode. Click on Apply in the left panel.

If you want to edit the shape of a custom Floor Plan, go to the Floor Base menu in 2D, and again click on Use Custom Shape. Make the required changes using the Sketcher mode and click on Apply in the left panel. To revert to the default shape, click on Use Automatic Shape.

Floor Base thickness

Click on the Floor icon in the Global Preferences and Settings bar in the bottom left. Click on the Floor Base drop-down menu. Enter the required thickness of the Floor Base into the Height field, and press Enter to apply changes.

Floor Base Material

Click on the Floor icon in the Global Preferences and Settings bar in the bottom left. Click on the Floor Base drop-down menu. Change the Base material using the user-defined drop-down menu or from the Fetch From Store option.
