Updated Workflow for creating Work Orders

Updated this week

We’ve introduced a new workflow to streamline how projects move from design to production in Infurnia.

Detail video :

Earlier workflow:

A Work Order had to be created from a Design. Then the Production Designer would verify it on the MES (unpublished work order) and then publish it to access all outputs from the MES Portal

New workflow:

Now a Production Design will need to be created from the design once the designer finishes their work. Once the Production Designer verifies it, they can publish to a work order and then access outputs from the MES portal.

The main change is regarding a dedicated Production Design portal: This change re-emphasizes the role of a Production Designer in verifying a design and ensuring that it is manufacturable. The Production design portal will have a separate UI from the design portal and have all the tools a Prod. The designer needs to help them verify. Work order creation will only happen post verification.

Updated portals

There are now 4 main portals in Infurnia -

Infurnia DESIGN

Infurnia PRODUCTION

Infurnia MES

Infurnia Admin

For designers focused solely on creating the design.

For production designers to verify the manufacturability of the design.

For factory operators

For team admins

No manufacturing outputs or related settings will be available here

All manufacturing outputs, settings (e.g. cutlist, layout, connector related settings) will be available here for verification in UI (not for download).

All manufacturing outputs will be available for download and in UI.

Used to set catalog, manage users and billing, update settings and view project progress.

How to Publish a Work Order

  1. In the Design Portal, go to Outputs Tab β†’ Prod Design

    • Choose: Create a copy or Share the same design.

  2. Production Designers can access the file under Production Designs β†’ In Progress

(Old unpublished or unused projects can be archived)

  3. In the Production Design Portal, review the design, adjust rules/connectors, preview outputs, and publish to a work order. If you are republishing, and there are several existing work orders, you can decide which work order to republish to.
