What is the MES portal?
Updated over a week ago

Infurnia's MES (Manufacturing Execution System) portal is designed to streamline the process from design to manufacturing, providing a comprehensive solution for your manufacturing team. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how the MES portal can be used effectively:

Creating and Managing Work Orders

  1. Create Work Orders:

    • The manufacturing team can create work orders for any design approved by the design team.

    • To create a work order, go to the work orders section and add the design link.

    • Once the work order is created, it will be listed in the work orders section.

  2. Review Work Orders:

    • Click on any work order to view its details.

    • Inside a work order, you can see all the modular units (cabinets) that are part of the design.

    • Select any cabinet to view all the panels that make up that cabinet.

Verifying Units

  1. Check Panels:

    • Click on individual panels within a cabinet to check their details.

    • You can view the cabinet in a 3D viewer, which helps in visualizing the components and their placement.

    • Check the details such as finished dimensions, cut dimensions, core material, finishes, and edge bands.

  2. Verify Units:

    • After reviewing all panels, you can verify the units.

    • Mark the units as verified to indicate they are ready for the next stage.

Enabling Units for Manufacturing

  1. Enable Units:

    • Once units are verified, you can enable them for manufacturing.

    • In the work order section, use the "Enable Units for Manufacturing" option.

    • Select the units you want to enable for manufacturing. Verified units are automatically selected, but you can also choose unverified units if needed.

    • Confirm the selection to enable the units. This step is crucial as you will be billed at a per panel level once units are enabled.

Viewing Outputs

  1. View Outputs:

    • For all enabled units, you can view the panel listing and various outputs needed for manufacturing.

    • Outputs include:

      • Cut-List: A detailed list of all panels to be cut.

      • Board Layout: Layout plans for cutting the boards efficiently.

      • Panel Labels: Labels for each panel to ensure proper identification.

      • CNC Outputs: Files and instructions for CNC machines to execute the cuts and other operations.

By following these steps, Infurnia's MES portal ensures a seamless transition from design to manufacturing, allowing for efficient verification, enabling, and production of modular units. This end-to-end solution helps in reducing errors, improving efficiency, and providing a clear overview of the entire manufacturing process.
