To add a beam to your floor plan, first click on the Beam icon in the Architecture ribbon .

Once you’re in the beam mode, move your mouse, the beam will move along with it. It will automatically snap to different layers of each wall. Move your mouse to where you want to place the beam. Click once to place it there.
