How to add a room divider to divide a space into two separate rooms within adding physical walls

Updated over a week ago

A Room Divider is a virtual or "invisible" wall that is used to mark the boundary between two separate areas or rooms within a larger space. While there is no physical wall or barrier, a Room Divider helps visually separate and distinguish one part of a room from another, creating the illusion of distinct spaces without the need for physical walls.

For example, if you have an open floor plan and want to designate a living room area and a kitchen area without building an actual wall, you can use a Room Divider to create a visual separation between the two spaces. This is particularly useful for interior design and space planning.

To add a Room Divider in a design or floor plan, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Walls" icon in the Home ribbon or Architecture ribbon.

  2. From the available wall options, select "Room Divider."

  3. Once the Room Divider tool is active, you can use it to draw the Room Divider in your design. Click at the starting point where you want to place the divider and drag your mouse to create the visual boundary between the rooms. Click again on the end point to complete the Room Divider.

By adding a Room Divider, you effectively create the illusion of separate rooms or spaces within a larger area without the need for physical walls. This is a common technique used in open floor plans to define different functional areas within a single space.
