Editing shape, type, depth, shift and material of wall tiling on Infurnia

Updated over a week ago

To start editing a wall tiling, first click on the intended tiling to select it, and go to the Tiling and Cutting Tool option in the lefthand panel.

You will then enter a mid-state, where you can see only the shape of that tiling created colored in grey, and the outline of its base wall.

Editing Shape

Click on the tiling shape to select it, and click on the Edit Shape Option in the properties panel on the left. You will further enter into the Sketcher Mode where you can modify or create a new shape. Ensure you create CLOSED polylines/curves only. Once done, click on Apply to save changes.

Editing Type, Depth and Distance from Wall Face

Click on the tiling shape to select it, go to the properties menu in the left panel.

To change the type, click on the drop-down arrow in the menu under the Type field. In the drop-down menu that opens, you can select between Extrude, Tiling and Cut by clicking on any of the three.

To change the depth, enter the desired value under the Depth field. To reverse the depth to be behind the wall face instead of ahead of it, type in the negative value of the depth by which you want it to extend.

(Note: For Cut type it is the other way round; the positive value will extend it into the wall, negative value will extend it ahead of the wall.)

To change the distance of the tiling base from the wall face, type in the value of the required distance under the Front Shift field. To reverse the shift, type in the negative value of the desired distance.

Edit Material

Click on the tiling shape to select it. In the left panel, under the Material menu, click on the Select Material drop down menu and click on one of the user-defined materials therein, or click on the Fetch From Store icon at the right of the Material menu to open the carousel and select a material from there.

Moving a Tiling within the Wall Plane

Click on the tiling shape to select it. Then, click on the Offset option in the upper ribbon. Click anywhere on the shape depending on where you want to set the base point for shifting, and then move the mouse in any direction. You can also manually enter the distance by typing in a value, and then move the mouse in any direction within that entered distance. Click anywhere on the screen depending on where you want to relocate the base point of the tiling shape.

Once you are done editing the tiling, you may click on the Back to Designing arrow at the top-right corner, to return to the workspace.
