  1. Set camera position and angle

Click on the green camera icon, you will find in the bottom right corner of the floorplan view. Once added you can move it in the preferred position, notice the camera preview in the small bottom right corner. Right beside the cadre you will see a sliding bar, this represents the elevation of the camera from the floor level, and right beneath it there is the camera angle.

It is recommended to keep it 0° so that you have neat vertical elements, unless you aim to have a bird-eye or any other kind of view.

  2. Adjust the artificial lights

You can multi-select light fixtures at once, change the intensity of all of them from the left common properties panel.
Intensity of light sources should depend from a room to another based on the dimensions of the room, and the quantity of the lights added. Needless to say, as the space gets bigger as more light quantity or higher intensity is needed.

It is recommended to have the intensity from-

    - 2 to 5 for spot lights

-10 to 20 for the central hanging ligh

-10 to 15 for ceiling strip lights

You could also change the light color, and light shape, spot (emits light in a cone shape with a specific direction, you can set the beam angle of the cone) or point light which emits light from all directions.

  3. Adjust exterior light / environment map

Under the render tab in the tool bar, you will find the exterior light tool.

Once you click on it, you will find two types in the properties panel, first one is the environment map, this is the HDRI which shows as a background from windows and openings, some may call it the dome, this also affects the general light penetrating to the inside of your space. If needed you can change the sunrays direction from sun rotation also you can adjust the intensity of it.

Last but not least, if you render and still feel your render needs to be even brighter, then Infurnia has this hack of changing ambient light intensity, this gives a general light to the room without having to modify any artificial nor natural light.

It is recommended to have the intensity from

    - 50 to 80 for environment map

    - 40 to 70 for sunlight

-40 to 70 for ambient light

You could also change the light color, and light shape, spot (emits light in a cone shape with a specific direction, you can set the beam angle of the cone) or point light which emits light from all directions.

  4. Materials settings

To adjust materials, the easiest way is to open material settings from the preferences and settings bar, you can find it in the right bottom corner of your screen, once you open it, a small window opens with all materials used in this design.

You can also select the picker tool, next to ‘Materials & Composites’ in the window’s title > click on the targeted material > material settings window will open > From there you can manage all settings as specular (reflection of material) / roughness (0 is glossy & 1 is matt) / Metalness (set it as 1 if you need to give it a metallic effect).
