Adjusting Margin Settings in Board Layouts

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Generate Board Layout:

    • Navigate to the Outputs section on the left-hand side.

    • Select Board Layout to generate the board layout.

  2. Understand Board Margins:

    • Zoom in on the board layout to see the margins left on the edges.

    • These margins account for potential chipping or damage due to transportation or manufacturing.

  3. Global Margin Settings:

    • Go to the Settings option.

    • Under Global Board Layout Settings, find the margin settings.

    • By default, the horizontal and vertical margins are set to 10mm.

    • To change the margin, edit the values accordingly (e.g., set both to 50mm).

    • Regenerate the board layout to apply the new margin settings.

    • Verify the new margins (50mm) are applied on all sides of the board layout.

  4. Specific Board Margin Settings:

    • If you need different margins for specific boards:

      • Go to the settings option for individual boards.

      • Specify the desired margin dimensions for each board.

      • Regenerate the board layout to apply these specific settings.

By following these steps, you can customize the margins in your board layouts to accommodate specific project or material requirements, ensuring accurate and damage-free cutting.
