In every modular unit, the carcass will contain panels with exposed edges, and edges that are covered by the adjacent panels and hence concealed from the eye.

The edge bands that you may apply/not apply on exposed edges are called Visible Edge Bands, whereas the edge bands that you can apply/not apply on the overlapped/concealed edges are called Invisible Edge Bands.
