What are sales channels and price fields, and how are they related?

Updated over a week ago

Sales channels and price fields are a useful way of organizing the price settings of any SKU that contains more than one set of pricing settings. This applies particularly to a singular product available in multiple branches and their corresponding stores.

Every organization has one or more sales channels, which in turn have one or more price fields. In Infurnia, every SKU is mapped to at least one sales channel and at least one of that sales channel's price fields. The hierarchy is as follows, from highest to lowest:

  1. PRIMARY or Company level: Organization

  2. SECONDARY or Branch Level: Sales Channel

  3. TERTIARY or Store Level: Price Field/ Price Type, to which a customizable price setting can be assigned.
