To apply the hatch in elevation view, open the desired elevation view. Then,
Select the hatch icon in the toolbar.
In the Hatching Sketcher mode, use the available Draw tools to defines the boundary of your hatch. (NOTE: You can only draw one closed shape at a time).
Hit Apply to save changes.
Click on the newly formed hatch, and its properties to open up in the left panel.
Therein, you can specify the hatch type, stroke color (Source to be Self, not Layer), fill color, scale and opacity of the selected hatch.
