How rendering charges are calculated?

In Infurnia, rendering happens on the cloud. Each time a design is rendered on the cloud, Infurnia incurs a cloud computing bill. Therefore, cloud-based rendering on Infurnia is charged separately from the Infurnia subscription.

Cost of Rendering:

In Infurnia, you can fire multiple types of renders. Each type of render consumes a different amount of render credits. Right now, you can fire 7 different types of renders on Infurnia. Here are the costs associated with each of them.

So, if you fire 1 3D render for example, you will use 25 render credits.

You can learn about the cost of 1 render credit by going to infurnia.com/pricing and checking the 'How many free render credits do I receive with my design plan?' under Frequently asked questions.

Free Render Credits:

To ensure that your basic rendering tasks can be done without the need to pay for extra render credits, Infurnia provides unlimited free HD renders, as well as 100 free render credits to each user every month. For businesses, these render credits are pooled at the organization level. If, for example, an organization has 5 users, then they will get 500 free render credits each month. These render credits can be used by any of the 5 users.

Unused render credits don’t get carried over to the next month.

Example to understand render overage charges:

If you have 5 users, and in total your users fire 200 HD renders, and 100 Full HD renders in a month, your total render credits used will be

200*0 + 100*1 = 100

Since you already have 500 free render credits for the month, and HD Renders are free, there will be no “Render Overage Charge” for this month.

If however, your users fire 200 HD renders, 100 Full HD renders, 50 4K renders, and 10 3D renders, then your total render credits consumed will be

200*0 + 100*1 + 50*5 + 10*25 = 600

Thus your “Render overage charge” for this month will be 600 - 500 = 100 render credits.

Billing and Pro-rata allocation:

In Infurnia, as a business, you are billed quarterly, even though all the charges are at a monthly basis. So, whenever you add a user in the middle of your billing month, they get render credits on a pro-rata basis for that particular month but get full free render quota for the next month, when they will be part of your org account from the start of the month.

For example, assume that your billing cycle is the 21st to the 20th of a month, and it is a 30-day month. Assume you had 3 users on the 21st of the first month, then you added 2 new users on the 1st of the next month, and then a further 5 users on the 11th of the month. In such a case, your total free render credits for this month will be -

3 * 100 + 2*100*(20/30) + 5*100*(10/30) = 600 render credits.

In the same way, your actual render usage and your free render quota is calculated for each of your 3 billing months in a quarter. At the end of the quarter, you will need to pay the sum of the “Render Overage Charge” for all 3 months.

If for example, your usage and free render quota was like this

Total Render Credits used

Free Render Credits

Render Overage

400

500

0

634

500

134

900

600

300

In this case, you will need to for 434 (134+300) render credits at the end of the quarter.
