How to create island kitchens?
Updated over a week ago

To create an island kitchen in your design, follow these steps in Infurnia:

  1. Access the Floor Plan: Go to the Floor Plan view in your design.

  2. Add Reference Lines: Use the Line tool to draw reference lines. These lines will help you align your island kitchen with existing elements. For example, you can draw a reference line 900mm away from the existing cabinets. Make sure you place these lines where you want your island to be.

  3. Insert Kitchen Furniture: Go to "Insert" > "Furnish" > "Kitchen Furniture" and select the type of base units you want to use for your island.

  4. Place Cabinets: Click and place the selected base units onto your design where you want to create the island. You can use the "Control + C" and "Control + V" keyboard shortcuts to duplicate units and place them adjacent to each other to form the island shape.

  5. Adjust Unit Width: Modify the unit width as needed to fit your design. Ensure that your island cabinets align with your reference lines.

  6. Remove Reference Lines: Once you've aligned your island kitchen, you can delete the reference lines to keep your design clean. Multi-select the reference lines and press the delete key on your keyboard.

  7. 3D View: Switch to the 3D view to see the island kitchen you've created.

  8. Enable Skirting: To complete the island kitchen, make sure to enable skirting visibility for the cabinets. In the Construction settings, turn on skirting visibility for the back and sides of the island cabinets.

  9. Finish Panels: If you want to add finish panels to the exposed sides of the island, select the corresponding panels, go to the "Panel" settings, and mark them as exposed panels.

By following these steps, you can design and create an island kitchen within your Infurnia project. Remember to adjust the placement and features according to your specific design requirements.
