How to split a wall?
Updated over a week ago

To split a wall in your design, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Wall: Begin by selecting the wall that you want to split.

  2. Identify Direction A and B: On either side of the wall, you will find "Direction A" and "Direction B." These directions are essential references for splitting the wall. Direction A is typically one end of the wall, and Direction B is the other.

  3. Access Advanced Settings: In the "Wall" tab on your design panel, you'll find an option for "Advanced Settings." Click on this option to access more detailed wall customization.

  4. Split Wall Section: Within the Advanced Settings, look for the "Split Wall Section" feature. This is where you can define how and where you want to split the wall.

  5. Choose Split Direction: You'll need to specify whether you want to split the wall from Direction A or Direction B. Your choice will determine which end of the wall the split will be measured from.

    • If you choose to split from Direction A, the calculation of the split will be made starting from Direction A.

    • If you choose to split from Direction B, the split measurement will begin at Direction B.

  6. Set the Split Length: Enter the value for the length at which you want to split the wall. This value should be less than the total length of the wall. For example, if you enter a value of 1000mm, it means you want to create a split 1000mm away from the specified direction.

  7. Confirm the Split: After entering the split length, press "Enter" or the appropriate confirmation option in your software. The wall will now be split at the designated length.

  8. Verify the Split: Select the wall section where you applied the split. You should see a dimension indicator showing the length of the split. In your example, the dimension should read 1000mm.

  9. Use Additional Split Options: If needed, you can explore further options within the Advanced Settings, such as "Split at Center." This option will create a split in the middle of the wall, equidistant from Direction A and Direction B.

By following these steps, you can accurately split a wall in your design, creating two separate wall sections based on your specific requirements. This allows for more detailed and precise customization of your design elements.
