Drafting lines, curves and polygons using the Draw ribbon.

Updated over a week ago

To access the drafting elements, click on the Draw tab to open the Draw ribbon at the top.

Drafting Lines, Polylines or Arrows

To draw a line or polyline, select the Line, Polyline or Arrow icon respectively in the Draw ribbon.

First click where you want the starting point of the line segment to be. Now move your mouse, and a line will start forming. Once you reach the end point, click there or press Enter, and the line segment/arrow will be created. Move the mouse to form an adjacent line segment/arrow starting from that endpoint, or press Esc to terminate the line/polyline/arrow.

Drafting Arcs

Click on the 3-Arc icon in the Draw ribbon. This works exactly like creating curved walls using arc bending.

First create a straight edge between two points, then move your mouse away from the edge to create a curve. The arc will keep on adjusting as you move your mouse in different directions. Click once to finalize the edge.

Drafting Circles

Click on the Circle icon in the Draw ribbon. Click on the point you want to be the circle's center point, then move your mouse to adjust the radius of the circle. Once you reach the required size, click once to finalize the circle.

Drafting Rectangles

To draw a rectangle, select the Rectangle icon respectively in the Draw ribbon.

First click where you want the corner point of the rectangle to be. Now move your mouse, and a rectangle will start forming. Once you reach the diagonally opposite corner point, click there, and the rectangle will be created.

Polygons

Drawing Polygons

Click on the Polygon icon in the Draw ribbon. In the panel that opens in the left, enter the required number of sides (minimum 3) into the Side of Polygon field. Click on the point you want to be the polygon's center point, then move your mouse to adjust the radius of the polygon. Once you reach the required size, click once to finalize the polygon.

Inscribing/Circumscribing Polygon within a Shape

Click on the Polygon icon in the Draw ribbon. In the panel that opens in the left, go the the Draw As toggle, where you can click on either the Inscribed or Circumscribed button.

To inscribe the polygon WITHIN the existing shape, click on the Inscribed toggle. Then, click on the point in the shape, that you want to be the polygon's center point, then move your mouse to one of the edges of that shape and click once to finalize.

To circumscribe the polygon AROUND the existing shape, click on the Circumscribed toggle. Then, click on the point in the shape, that you want to be the polygon's center point, then move your mouse to one of the edges of that shape and click once to finalize.
